Merry Time of Year..

Our tree is a bit sad and I wish I had more decorations for it but it still brings me joy. And, Owen is so cute in these pictures!

I LOVE this time of year. I love seeing the lights on all the houses, or should I say on some houses..what is with the dwindling decorating spirit?! There used to be lights at every house and I miss that. But, I digress. I love the trees and the decorations, the joy and cheer, the songs and even the hustle and bustle. I don't necessarily like driving in it though! I just enjoy watching people get excited about the things they have found to give to others. One of my favorite things about the holidays is watching the children in their innocence and excitement. I look forward to this year with Owen and although he doesn't really know what is going on with everything and everyone he could sit and watch the lights on our tree for hours.

My mother in law asked us a question before Thanksgiving and I have been thinking about it a lot. She asked if we felt like Thanksgiving and Christmas seems like a let down because you have so much hype for it and spend so much time getting ready for it and it's over in a flash. Well my answer is most definitely NO, for me it isn't about just opening the presents and all is done and over. It is about so much more; it's about the spirit of Christmas and the shopping, wrapping, lights, preparing, family time, more family time, and most of all about remembering the Savior and all the love and joy I am able to have because and through him. I am very excited to open gifts, but, I am more excited to spend some time with my family and enjoy the whole season; not just a few hours Christmas morning.

So I hope you all have a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS SEASON.
