Pregnancy Update

Thanks everyone for the congrats! So to answer some questions: I am 16 weeks pregnant and due February 13th. We find out if we are having a girl or a boy on September 24th and I can't wait! I don't have any special feelings on what the little one is. I am glad to be in the second trimester as I was pretty sick the first trimester. I got to hear the heartbeat today and it was at 150. I will try to post in another few weeks to get a poll as to what all you think Ry and I are having.

Spoiled!

Since I am visiting my family and they are all taking their traditional Sunday hibernation I figured I would update. I have decided I am terrible at taking pictures so unfortunately there will be none. Today is a very beautiful Easter day and I am sooo grateful for what our Lord and Savior has done for us.

On April 3rd I was spoiled..hence the title. It was my birthday and my parents took me out for my all time favorite food even though they can't really stand it. I ate to my hearts content and maybe even converted my dad a bit. My dad tried the Vegas Roll...yes my all time favorite food is sushi!! He had more than one bite and was brave enough to have some sake; IE raw salmon. He said it was very tender and wasn't as fishy as he thought it would be. I think he might even try some again.

After sushi I met up with some of my favorite people for shopping in SLC. Amanda, Annesha, and Abbie were so much fun to hang out and shop with. I loved seeing them and hearing all about what they have been up to. It was fun to see Amanda and Annesha's cute little boys too.

After driving home I got together with my little sister Jen for dinner and...you guessed it some more shopping!! We went to another of my favorite places to eat..Costa Vida!

I was sooo tired after such a fun filled day I went home and went to bed.

On Saturday Ryan took me out to dinner to Texas Roadhouse! The food was really good! I did however feel like I really was older when I turned to Ryan and said "I really kinda just wish we could be eating this at home on the couch watching a movie". He agreed so we had our food packed up..(after about two bites) and headed for home. Let me set the scene for you so you can understand our reasoning.

We got there after the priesthood session to find a huge line. They told us it would take about 15-20 min............after about an hour we were seated. We ordered and then started talking when to Ryan's left and my right a group of about 7 people in their 20's started telling stories. Oh yes, I could here every word of the guys sap story of his bad date and all the money he spent. Such a waste. On to every other persons dating horror stories (at the top of their vocal capacity I am sure. Yeah they were the type of people who were sooo beautiful on the outside and had sooo much money who couldn't understand why they weren't on dates. So ugly on the inside. We were sitting right next to a "half" wall. One of those were someone can peak over and talk with you. Well that is exactly what happened. Except it wasn't just anyone, it was a drunk waitress who put a roll up on the flat part and said "watch out, I am going to flick it". Then she proceeded to flick it off the wall into the lamp and almost hit me. I had to dodge out of the way. So yeah, I didn't feel too old asking our waitress to pack up our food and head for home.

Over the next few days the spoiling continued with presents from family, dinner at the in laws, and my cousins taking me out for Sushi. And, the celebration continues even til today with some Dream Cake. Yay, I am going to go wake up the hibernators to enjoy the springtime and my moms famous cake! Next time I will try to have pictures.

Church Ball

Tonight I learned the real meaning of church ball! Ryan has been playing church ball this season. His 98th ward team just made it into the Region Finals. I have been a mere spectator until tonight. Tonight I learned what church ball is really all about. It is about making sure the right time is on the clock, fouls are marked, calls are made, points are given correctly, and the time clock/score girls get yelled at! Yes...that was me and the other 98th ward girls who were volunteered by the refs to do a job we were not really wanting or properly prepared for. The other team MADE SURE we were doing are job right and if we made even the slightest mistake we were sure to hear about it.

DON'T WORRY... IT ALL ENDED UP BEING WORTH IT BECAUSE OUR MEN DOMINATED ALMOST DOUBLING THE "WHINERS" SCORE!! Good job Ryan and other 98th ward ballers!

Valentine's Day!

So I think you should do nice things all throughout the year..not just one day a year. That being said, Ryan and I didn't really make plans for Valentine's Day! Especially since I had work all morning. So, I was really surprised to come home Friday night to a big bouquet of roses, a sweet card, and a gift certificate for a massage! Best surprise ever! I am so lucky to be married to Ryan and thank my lucky stars every day! I am so grateful for his love! He is such an amazing guy: caring, smart, patient, generous, hardworking, and on and on and on. Thank you sooo much Ry for such an amazing life I have with you! You always know just what I need and how to cheer me up! I love you more than words can say!

Thursdays

Thursdays are my favorite days! I never imagined I would say I like Thursdays. Thursday is just another day. So let me explain why I like Thursdays and particularly this last one. Thursday is the day I don't have work and more importantly Ryan doesn't have school. This is significant because every other day is occupied with both of those except Sunday; and although I love Sundays we all know it isn't really much of a free day.

This past Thursday was especially good. We had the whole day planned out for us. We slept in, ate breakfast and then I got ready for the day while Ryan ran a few errands. Around 12:30 we were on the freeway headed to the hunting expo in Salt Lake. As we were talking and getting excited for the day ahead of us the Jeep was plotting it's day. Unfortunately for us the Jeep made plans which differed from ours. So, as we were driving we heard a thu-clunk. I looked behind us thinking "what in the world did Ryan run over" but the Jeep sat laughing as she felt Ryan stiffen up and test out the steering wheel. Then I became informed as Ryan said "we just lost power steering". As Ryan worked his muscles getting off the freeway and making turns to get to the nearest Checker store the Jeep laughed more as she thought it would be funny to overheat. We won that fight barely getting to Checker before she overheated. A new belt and idler pulley bought and installed by an amazing mechanic (who else but Ryan) fixed the Jeep and she was then more than ready to take us to the expo.

The expo was a blast and Ryan was really excited to get a photo with Jim Shockey. If you don't know who this is you don't belong at the expo. He is one of the most famous hunters as he is the only one to ever kill all the record size North American big game animals with a muzzle loader. This is a big feat.
We also saw a lot of crazy mounts and a few really big bears. We spent about four hours there and I even bought myself a nice sleeping bag for a low price yay! Summer camping here I come.
We also saw the Spider Bull which holds the new record. We both agreed we thought others were bigger but here it is. After resting our feet for a while in the Jeep we headed to the biggest party ever! We were celebrating my Grandma and Grandpa's 60th wedding anniversary. We met everyone at the Delta Center..yes I am refusing to call it the Energy Solutions. We headed up to find our seats in the upper box. We enjoyed a full buffet and endless drinks, nachos, popcorn and time with the honored guests. It was a blast! To top it all off the Jazz won! Ryan celebrated by touching a game ball! (the one outside that is *wink) Here are some pictures. and thanks to everyone who made it happen.

So yeah it was a great day and even though the Jeep didn't cooperate it added some variation and excitement to our lives. Not all Thursdays are so eventful but I still love them because we get to spend at least a little bit of time together having fun!
*p.s. we had a great Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years day!
